From TelugupediaFilmfare Awards South are the oldest and most prominent film awards given for Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam films and Kannada films in India. They are given annually to honour the best talents and provide encouragement and incentive to the South Indian film industry. HistoryThe Filmfare awards were first introduced in 1990. Readers of Filmfare Magazine were polled to decide the winners, and over 10,000 readers spread throughout South India participated in the polls; trophies were given to winners of the popular vote. In the first awards function, held on 21st March 1990, there was a bust-up about actors claiming prizes but it was resolved.In Tollywood chiranjeevi and Kollywood Kamal Haasan has received most of the filmfare awards.These are one of the famous actors in south india.
